LUXURY RANGE ROVER NOW EVEN MORE REFINED

RANGE ROVER CREATED THE LUXURY SUV MARKET IN 1970

Reflecting its unrivalled heritage, Range Rover is as striking on the outside as it is refined within, taking design, comfort and craftsmanship to extraordinary new heights while still delivering the performance and capability customers expect.

The original luxury SUV has defined the market since 1970 with an iconic design that has evolved over nearly half a century at the top of the 4x4 class. A mix of luxurious, sustainably-sourced interior materials furnish the cabin alongside the latest consumer technologies to deliver the perfect blend of modern-day convenience and timeless luxury.

Composed and refined, no matter the conditions, Range Rover excels in all environments. Clever stowage solutions throughout the cabin are joined by a generous rear loadspace and versatile split tailgate, while Executive Class rear seats and long wheel base body ensure this SUV represents the pinnacle of luxury.

The effortless performance and driver comfort of Range Rover is improved with the addition of Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go. This enables the vehicle to maintain a set distance from the car in front and to follow it to a stop and pull away again, if stationary for less than three seconds.

This is available alongside Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist.* This systemhelps keep the vehicle centred in its lane by applying moderate steering interventions with the driver’s hands on the wheel. The technology uses lane markings and, or where no lane markings can be detected, the path of the vehicle in front. Switching lanes or braking deactivates the system.

MORE COMFORTABLE THAN EVER

The interior of the Range Rover is as luxurious, adaptable and beautifully crafted as ever. Typifying the sustainable luxury and comfort evident throughout are the seats, which provide generous recline, legroom and foot space. The richly luxurious designs feature lines, leathers and layers of deep cushioning that create a cosseting lounge-style environment, with controls located on the door panels for customers to make adjustments.

For the next level in comfort, the 20-way front seats provide greater personalisation opportunities. The leg cushions extend to support the thighs, while adjustable bolsters support occupants and can be equipped with cooling and massage functions.

With 24-way adjustment, the top-of-the-range Semi-Aniline Leather front seats are the most advanced option, providing upper shoulder support for total comfort, alongside integrated climate and massage settings, and the option of a stress-relieving Hot Stone massage function.

This high-end functionality extends to the rear, where the seats offer a 60:40 split-fold design. Wider and offering substantial legroom, their power recline controls are also located on the door for greater convenience.

Customers can choose powered reclining seats in Semi-Aniline Leather with Intelligent Seat Cargo Mode. This allows for effortless folding of the flexible seats and access to the load space.

The powered rear seats can be folded using the infotainment touchscreen, providing load-through access and ensuring the Range Rover’s peerless comfort and refinement does not come at the expense of practicality.

Executive Class Seating is available on Vogue SE models and is fitted as standard to Autobiography derivatives, elevating front and rear seat luxury with Semi-Aniline Leather and additional functionality.

Wider seat frames, deeper foams and plush comfort interlayers combine with a seat cushion that leads into a premium C-pillar treatment to create the impression of a luxurious wraparound lounge-like interior.

This sensation is enhanced by a power-deployable centre console that is available at the touch of a button and features a break at the centre footwell to enable rear passengers to easily exit from either side of the vehicle. When the centre console is stowed, the rear cabin can still accommodate three passengers in comfort, meaning versatility is uncompromised.

When in use, the powered rear centre console envelops occupants in luxurious leather, providing an elegant home for drinks and personal items. Passengers using the Rear Executive Class seating can also recline their seatbacks to make the most of the additional legroom provided by the long wheelbase model. The cosseting headrests have eight different settings to deliver optimal comfort.

The front passenger seat can be moved forwards to maximise space and a heated arm, calf and foot rest provide ergonomic support when reclined for a more immersive, relaxing experience.

The most comfortable position in the rear can be achieved at the push of a button, moving the front seat forward and folding the headrest down for greater visibility. In turn, this also reclines the rear seat, folds down the footrest (found at the rear of the front seat) and raises the calf rest, before deploying the centre console.

The sense of serenity can be taken to new heights with the massage function that uses 14 cells in each seat to deliver a variety of relaxing massages.

The Hot Stone massage function focuses heat into the four central massage elements while retaining a cool or ambient temperature throughout the rest of the seat, so passengers enjoy a more intense and effective experience. The seats produce continuous rolling waves across the back and gently apply heat to the spine.

To minimise sound intrusion, the Range Rover features 6mm thick glass to ensure road, engine and wind noise do not disturb occupants – whether they are working or relaxing.

INTERIOR REFINEMENTS

A series of comfort-enhancing functions transform the travelling experience for both the driver and passengers.

A cabin air ionisation system, Nanoe™, uses charged water particles to help remove harmful substances, cleanse the air and eliminate allergens, viruses, bacteria and odours. The advanced purification system can be switched on and off using the climate screen on the infotainment system.

The powered roof sunblind can be opened and closed using an advanced gesture control system capable of sensing hand movements. All it takes to open the sunblind is a rearward swipe motion in front of the rear-view mirror, while a simple forward motion will prompt the blind to close. Comfortable and convenient, the intuitive system also reduces potential distraction to the driver.

In addition, the blinds can be closed automatically when all passengers have disembarked and the vehicle is locked. This keeps the interior cool in warm weather and minimises the need for air conditioning when passengers return. When the driver unlocks the door, the sunblind will automatically slide open.

The Range Rover gives customers control over the cabin environment with three-zone ambient lighting.

Occupants can tailor the atmosphere to create a calm, relaxing and stress-free environment by configuring the colour (from a choice of 10) and intensity of lighting via fully controllable tri-colour LEDs.

Lighting elements are split across a three zones, with the upper one controlling uplighters in the B-pillars. The mid-layer controls LEDs in the doors and centre console, while the lower level manages the soft, diffused light in the footwells.

PHEV: SUSTAINABLE PERFORMANCE WITHOUT COMPROMISE

The P400e is the most efficient Range Rover and combines an advanced 221kW four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine with an 85kW electric motor. This transformational technology is powered by an advanced 13.1kWh lithium-ion battery giving a total available power output of 297kW through the permanent all-wheel drive (AWD) system.

Together they drive the Range Rover from 0-100km/h in 6.8 seconds and to a top speed of 220km/h. With an impressive 640Nm of torque, the powertrain mixes dynamic and sustainable performance with traditional Range Rover capability, comfort and refinement.

The P400e delivers CO2 emissions of 72g/km and fuel economy of up to 3.1 l/100km on the NEDC combined cycle. The intelligent system can also capture and store the energy generated when braking to aid recharging of the battery.

The combination of Ingenium petrol and electric power can be used in two driving modes: Parallel Hybrid mode (the default driving mode) and EV (Electric Vehicle) mode.

In Parallel Hybrid mode the P400e can intelligently and seamlessly combine the two power sources to make efficient progress. By using its electrical energy reserves intelligently, the P400e always has the power and capability customers demand from a Range Rover.

On longer journeys, customers can use the SAVE function to deploy the EV-only range for a specific part of their journey, for example, when entering congested urban areas.

In EV mode the P400e can be driven up to 51km with zero tailpipe emissions when fully charged. This driving mode is manually selected using a button on the console and will allow drivers to complete many journeys without engaging the petrol engine.

The access point for the 7kW on-board recharging socket is located behind the Land Rover badge on the right of the grille, while the 13.1kWh prismatic cell lithium-ion battery is mounted at the rear, beneath the boot floor.

A full charge can be achieved in approximately 7.5 hours (10 amp; varies by market, location and the type of hardware used), which makes the Range Rover P400e ideal for overnight battery top-ups using a domestic plug socket.

The PHEV model is available with two types of charging cable and includes a home charging lead, which connects to domestic power supplies, as standard.

Faster charging performance can be achieved with a public charging cable compatible with AC wall boxes installed at domestic and business premises and service stations, making it ideal for charging on the move. This can reduce the charge time to as little as 2 hours 45 minutes.

Timed charging is also available via the Range Rover’s state-of-the-art infotainment system, which allows owners to choose the most appropriate time to begin charging – perfect for customers who want to plug in when they return home, but wait to charge until a cheaper energy tariff is available.

Owners can easily monitor the charging status by looking at two illuminated strips either side of the charging socket. A white light signifies the vehicle is connected and charging has not started, while a blue light shows that timed charging is set but not underway. A flashing green signal shows the car is charging, while a solid green light indicates the battery is full.

INFORMATION AT YOUR FINGERTIPS

Two high-definition 10-inch touchscreens form the centrepiece of the minimalist cabin with Touch Pro Duo. Fast and intuitive, it combines finely engineered physical controls and a beautiful digital interface to deliver a truly connected driving experience.

The system looks simultaneously futuristic and elegant thanks to the interlinked touchscreens that provide superior clarity and ease of operation with familiar tap, swipe and pinch-to-zoom control gestures on the upper screen. The customisable home screen also allows customers to create shortcuts to preferred features.

Touch Pro Duo can dual-task for the driver, keeping mapping information displayed on the upper touchscreen, while providing easy access to further features on the secondary lower display. By dividing information and controls logically between the two, the Range Rover achieves a more intuitive user experience.

The upper screen on the central console can be angled to counter glare and improve visibility while the fixed lower 10-inch display is the control panel and manages more functional tasks such as climate control, seat and vehicle settings.

Key to its design are two rotary Dynamic Dials within the lower screen, which can be used to control the cabin temperature, fan speed, seat climate and massage functions, as well as Terrain Response settings. This can also be used to manage media and phone functionality via specialist widgets when the upper screen is in use.

EXCEPTIONAL CLARITY

The 12-inch high-resolution Interactive Driver Display includes dual dial, single dial and extended mode views. Other frequently used features – including phone, navigation and media settings – can also be managed using this cluster.

In addition, the Range Rover’s next-generation Head-Up Display system puts vital information just where the driver wants it, using a 10-inch full-colour projection with superior clarity and definition. It presents essential information on the windscreen, keeping vehicle speed and navigation directions in view at all times. Other updates include information relating to the Adaptive Cruise Control settings and Advanced Driver Assistance alerts.

The information appears to hover beyond the windscreen thanks to an increased perceived projection distance, preventing a driver’s eyes from having to constantly refocus and helping to reduce the possibility of fatigue on longer journeys.

The full-colour image is generated using four super-bright LEDs and a high-resolution TFT LCD screen. The image is sharper and more than twice the size of other systems, allowing customers to adjust the layout, height and brightness of the display.

THE MOST CONNECTED RANGE ROVER YET

The steering wheel controls feature intuitive capacitive switches with dynamic illuminated icons that make operating the Range Rover’s features from behind the wheel simpler and safer.

By only allowing the driver to adjust elements specifically related to the infotainment media being used, the switches provide increased functionality while maintaining the minimalist quality of the interior and enhancing the driving experience.

The user-friendly switches provide full control of the instrument cluster, including media playback, phone, cruise control and heated steering wheel settings, plus a shortcut to a feature of the driver’s choosing. The capacitive surface also allows users to scroll through menus by finger or thumb.

The vehicle also provides passengers in the second row with 10-inch rear seat entertainment touchscreens.

With up to 17 connection points integrated discreetly throughout the cabin, the Range Rover is perfectly equipped as a mobile workspace and entertainment hub. This is thanks to two USB, an HDMI and 12V connection points in the front console cubby box – there is also a 12V socket in the glove box and a USB point in the deep stowage area underneath the cupholders.

For rear passengers, there are two 12V charging points, a domestic plug socket, and two USB and HDMI points. The load space provides a further 12V and a second domestic plug socket to keep laptops and other devices topped up.

In long wheelbase models, an additional USB charge point can be found in the storage box at the rear of the centre console.

For extra convenience, Land Rover’s innovative Activity Key wristband is available, allowing customers to lock and unlock the vehicle without using the standard fob. Perfect for runners, swimmers or cyclists who do not want to carry a traditional key while exercising, the durable Activity Key is waterproof to depths of 18m and designed to withstand temperatures from -50C to +125C degrees.

To lock or unlock the vehicle, the Activity Key must be held within 30mm of the second “R” of the Range Rover badge on the tailgate. Once activated, the main vehicle fob is disabled and can be left safely inside the cabin.

SUPERIOR SOUND

Meridian provides a suite of industry-leading audio systems. These are available with three levels of functionality from the 380W, 825W surround or 1700W Signature Sound Systems, providing 13, 19 and 29 speakers respectively and including a dual channel subwoofer in each.

All three have been designed with meticulous attention to detail and a focus on finding optimum positions for every speaker around the cabin to deliver three-dimensional sound quality.

AN SUV FOR ALL SEASONS

Peerless ride quality, regardless of the terrain or conditions, is a core part of the Range Rover experience. A class-leading suspension system combines poise and stability with exceptional ride isolation for flat, confident cornering and delivers a natural and intuitive feel behind the wheel.

Comprising a lightweight front and rear design, the suspension layout perfectly complements the advanced aluminium construction. Its fully independent layout features a wide-spaced double wishbone set-up at the front and an advanced multi-link layout at the rear.

In order to achieve the perfect balance of agility, composure and comfort, Land Rover’s engineers focused on optimising chassis stiffness and fine-tuning the steering system to deliver the peerless driving experience demanded of the Range Rover.

The chassis can be managed via a number of advanced technologies. Dynamic Response enables a driver to independently control the front and rear axles with an enhanced active roll control system, which allows for low-speed agility and increased stability at speed.

This is complemented by an Active Rear Locking Differential to further optimise traction and stability in corners, while Adaptive Dynamics provide continuous variable damping for a supple, absorbent and composed ride.

Electric Power Assisted Steering utilises variable-ratio speed-sensitive assistance to deliver a relaxed, natural and intuitive character with a faster steering ratio. The result is a luxury SUV with excellent stability and a relaxed character at high cruising speeds.

ALL-TERRAIN CAPABILITY

Range Rover’s legendary off-road capability is taken to new heights by the P400e, as its electric motor offers greater control of torque from a standstill. This improves low-speed control and superior pull-away on low-grip surfaces. The low range transmission can also be operated in pure EV mode for near silent all-terrain journeys.

Land Rover’s Terrain Response 2 technology has been re-tuned to intelligently and precisely distribute torque from the electric motor – which has no creep speed and maximum torque from zero rpm – to all four wheels. This gives greater control during low-speed off-road manoeuvres, reaffirming Range Rover’s outstanding breadth of capability.

Handling and performance across the model range can also be managed via a series of Terrain Response 2 programmes. This includes a Comfort mode, which calibrates the suspension settings to optimise ride comfort, while the Dynamic setting will give the driver a more dynamic ride. These exist alongside the familiar Grass Gravel Snow, Mud/Ruts, Sand, Rock Crawl and Eco settings.

In Eco mode, the driver receives instantaneous feedback and guidance on driving more efficiently, while minimising electrical power consumption and highlighting the effects of key features on fuel efficiency. It also softens the throttle pedal response, modifies the automatic transmission shift pattern and switches off heating for the door mirrors, steering wheel and seats to optimise fuel efficiency.

The Range Rover benefits from Jaguar Land Rover’s unique Low Traction Launch System, which helps to exploit all available traction when pulling away on slippery surfaces. Unlike All-Terrain Progress Control, the company’s all-terrain cruise control technology, Low Traction Launch initiates a unique throttle map to provide a more usable torque curve. The system is specifically designed to help drivers pull-away from a standstill on slippery surfaces such as wet grass, loose gravel and snow.

Hill Descent Control is also fitted as standard, while excellent ground clearance and a smooth underfloor help the vehicle negotiate rough terrain.

Wading capability for the P400e is also uncompromised with a maximum depth of 900mm. For deep water wading, it is recommended that the Ingenium petrol engine is running to prevent water entering the exhaust system.

FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE

The Range Rover’s four-wheel-drive capability is managed by a transfer case design, which has a smart actuator rather than a separate motor and ECU. This results in a 1.5kg reduction in weight and is controlled via a multi-plate clutch. Together with the bevel gear centre differential it provides a 50:50 torque split.

Using wheel slip information from a range of sensors, the clutch distributes torque evenly between all four wheels, while a ‘shift on the move’ system allows selectable high and low gears at up to 60km/h. The Active Rear Locking Differential can also be optimised for cornering stability and traction.

RIDE HEIGHT VERSATILITY

When cruising at a sustained speed of 105km/h and above, the suspension lowers the vehicle by 15mm to reduce drag and improve fuel efficiency.

Access Height lowers the vehicle by up to 50mm to help passengers enter and exit the vehicle. This feature can also lock the suspension at a low level, enabling the Range Rover to travel at up to 40km/h in locations with restricted height, such as multi-storey car parks.

Conversely, the ride height can be increased to cater for demanding off-road scenarios, with two bespoke options:

Off-Road Ride Height 1 lifts the vehicle by as much as 40mm at speeds of up to 80km/h and is ideal for faster driving in less extreme off-road conditions, such as deeply rutted dirt roads.

For more extreme landscapes or wading through water, Off-Road Ride Height 2 takes the car up to 75mm above its usual height at speeds of up to 50km/h.

Using switches in the rear load space it is possible to reduce the front and rear ride to help with loading. Conversely, the rear can also be raised to assist in the hitching of trailers and the adjustment of trailer inclination while stationary. The suspension can be levelled by holding the up and down buttons simultaneously until the vehicle returns to normal.

This user-friendly set-up can also be managed using the key fob, which is particularly effective when the load space is in use and the switches are inaccessible.

ADVANCED TOWING OPTIONS

The Range Rover also benefits from Advanced Tow Assist – one of the industry’s most advanced trailer reversing aids – which allows the driver to plot their trajectory when guiding trailers or caravans into position. This is managed via the central touchscreen and uses the rotary Terrain Response selector to steer the vehicle.

When in use, the driver will not be required to counter steer at any stage because the rotary dial is always turned in the direction the driver wants the trailer to go. The system automatically performs any counter steering to articulate both the vehicle and trailer along the path projected by the reversing camera on the central touchscreen.

SVAUTOBIOGRAPHY

The Range Rover SVAutobiography delivers a combination of craftsmanship and technology, epitomising the pinnacle of luxury travel – whether driver or passenger.

Available exclusively in long wheelbase, the luxury SUV combines advanced convenience features, including rear doors that close at the touch of a button, to create a sanctuary for relaxation that doubles as a mobile technology hub.

A comprehensive range of powertrain options includes the 297kW plug-in hybrid electric-petrol**, a 250kW 4.4 diesel, a 280kW V6 supercharged petrol and a 416kW V8 supercharged petrol engine.

Executive Class rear seats are central to the appeal of the luxurious new model. Combined with the long-wheelbase they offer rear legroom of over 1.2m, while deep seat foams with new comfort interlayers deliver enhanced passenger wellbeing. With a powered 40-degree recline capability, hot stone massage function, heated calf and foot rests, the rear cabin promises a peerless passenger experience.

A dramatic fixed centre console extends the full length of the cabin and the new model also allows passengers to close the rear doors using conveniently located buttons on the rear console.

Electrically deployable rear tables and integrated 10” Touchscreen rear entertainment screens ensure customers can work or relax in comfort, while a concealed refrigerator between the twin rear seats can hold two wine bottles or four 600ml bottles.

An exclusive new Zenith clock features on the rear centre console, inspired by the Elite 6150 watch. Its knurled bezel complements the finish on the start/stop button, gear selector and pedals.

SVAUTOBIOGRAPHY DYNAMIC

The Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic is the most powerful production Range Rover to date.

Created by Jaguar Land Rover’s experienced Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division, it complements the core models while giving drivers even more of what they want from the world’s ultimate SUV.

With outputs of 416kW and 700Nm from its V8 supercharged engine the SVAutobiography can accelerate from 0-100km/h in only 5.4 seconds. SVO’s engineers have even developed a chassis calibration to optimise performance, which is available as an alternative to the standard Comfort mode. This lowers the ride height by 8mm and is designed to heighten driver engagement without compromising comfort.

Striking design revisions that identify the most performance-focused Range Rover include an exclusive Graphite Atlas mesh grille design with chrome inserts. The front bumper and lower air intake finisher get the same treatment, along with modified side and rear accents. At the back, the modified rear bumper integrates metal tailpipe finishers, while a unique 22-inch wheel design joins the 21-inch option.

The five-colour palette features Firenze Red, which is exclusive to SVO’s performance flagship. Customers will also benefit from a unique SVO-branded key fob with a dark brushed aluminium finish that complements the rear badging.

Sporting the SVAutobiography emblem, a visible red flash signifies the dynamic nature of this potent model and communicates its performance-driven design.

The cabin design reiterates this message with a series of exclusive updates. The Executive Class seating configuration, in particular, transforms the rear passenger compartment and is finished in exclusive Quilted Perforated Semi-Aniline Leather trim.

The purposeful nature of the SVAutobiography Dynamic interior is evident in the quartet of sporty colourways available; Ebony, Ebony/Pimento, Ebony/Cirrus and Ebony/Vintage Tan. The SVO model also debuts two veneer choices, Steel Weave Carbon Fibre and Grand Black.

This luxurious appeal extends to the leather-wrapped lower pillars, SVAutobiography-branded illuminated treadplates and exclusive start-up graphic in the instrument cluster. The front centre console has also been updated to use the SVAutobiography logo.

Both the Range Rover SVAutobiography and SVAutobiography Dynamic are hand-finished exclusively at the Jaguar Land Rover SVO Technical Centre in Warwickshire, UK.
