In an all-electric car or when you’re using your full Electric Vehicle (EV) mode in a plug-in electric hybrid, your battery is the single source of energy for everything. As a result, your driving style, the features you use in your cabin, and even the conditions you drive in will influence your overall range.

Urban: The majority of your driving takes place in and around town travelling at an average speed of 27km/h.
Motorway: The majority of your driving takes place on the motorway at an average speed of 92km/h.
Combined: Your regular commute involves a combination of urban and motorway driving, at an average speed of 47km/h.
The battery in a Jaguar electric hybrid is able to deliver up to 62km (Jaguar E-PACE)1 and up to 65km (Jaguar F-PACE)1 of range from a single charge. This makes it perfect for daily commutes and driving around town with zero tailpipe emissions when in Full Electric Vehicle (EV) mode.
Once you lift your foot off the accelerator, an intelligent regenerative braking system is activated. This comfortably slows the vehicle while converting the power generated to optimise the battery’s range. Applying the brake pedal increases the amount of power harvested.
One of the biggest impacts on range is the driver. Travelling at a steady pace – rather than frequent, heavy acceleration – will help an electric car preserve range. This can also reduce your reliance on hard braking which consumes more energy than gentler braking.
Extreme low and high temperatures impact how well a battery can maintain its level of charge. Plugging your vehicle into a charged source will pre-condition the battery to its optimum temperature once charging has completed. This assists the vehicle in achieving maximum range and performance prior to your departure.
Similarly, pre-conditioning your vehicle’s cabin temperature while plugged in means that the battery charge is preserved for range, rather than being used for heating or cooling.
Eco Mode helps preserve the vehicle’s range by making subtle changes to cabin temperature, air recirculation and to a number of the vehicle’s other features. You can override these changes by normal operation of each feature or via the menu settings.
