2017/18: After an incredible debut season the team now switches its focus onto season four, beginning in Hong Kong this December. With new cities added to the schedule, and with the unveiling of the new I‑TYPE 2, Jaguar's second year of racing promises to be the best one yet.
MEXICO CITY, 03.03.18
In a week that saw Jaguar unveil the long-awaited all-electric I‑PACE to the world, Panasonic Jaguar Racing was determined not to be out-done in Mexico City with their record points haul. Nelson narrowly missed the podium in 4th while Mitch battled heroically from 12th place to finish 6th.
This historic race weekend got off to a momentous start with Mitch securing the team’s first ever pole position. And despite starting strong, a Full Course Yellow saw him penalised along with several others, and ultimately finishing 7th earning 3 points. The team STILL sits 5th overall heading to New York.
NEW YORK CITY, 14.07.18
Day one of the double-header weekend saw the best ever team-qualifying finishes. Mitch showed flashes of brilliance en route to a P2 qualifying, while Nelson also impressed qualifying in P6. Unfortunately, when it came to the race, technical issues forced both drivers to retire early.
NEW YORK CITY, 15.07.18
The team ended season four in true Jaguar style with both drivers recording valuable points. Mitch finished P6 and Nelson P7 bringing the team total to 119 points, for 6th overall in the standings. With testing for Season 5 already under way the team is getting ready to unleash the Jaguar I‑TYPE 3s come December.
As the last race weekend of the season the Hydro-Québec Montréal E-Prix track has been described by some racers as one of the most challenging circuits to navigate. With blind turns and up and downhill sections, the driver that maintains their composure will be the one who comes out on top.
As the final race of the FIA Formula E season, the team will be pushing their skills to the limit aiming for a podium finish to end the year on a high note.
