#GiveHerACrown is a change programme that addresses gender-based violence and femicide, by telling stories of all women in society. The survivors, the activists, the pioneers and the next generation - focusing on empowering, recognising, honouring, valuing and protecting women. Our official ambassador, Zolani Mahola [of Freshly Ground] will be composing and recording a campaign song to amplify the message, with Jaguar as the official auction partner. 16 South African artists will each create a bespoke crown of art to raise funding during 16 Days of Activism towards initiatives that empower women through storytelling and the arts.

Follow our social media channels to see how the story unfolds and follow Give Her a Crown to find out more.

"Young Queen you can do whatever you set your mind to. The world has held us back for many years but that’s no excuse. We push the boundaries no matter what challenges we face. Let your work and work ethic be so undeniable that it shouldn’t matter what gender you are! If I can live my dreams in a patriarchal world, so can you! " ~ Minnie Dlamini

  • Bobby van Jaarsveld

“They say that behind every successful woman is herself... we cannot be a nation that believes in the ending of this quote... I want to believe that behind every successful woman is herself, a loving father, a supportive partner, a strong family and friends.

As a proud father of a wonderful daughter and a husband to an amazing wife, there’s nothing I wouldn’t do to see them thrive in life and be the best that they can be. Let’s lift up the women of this country. We need them! I need them! We all need each other. Love Her. Respect her. Give her a crown.” ~ Bobby van Jaarsveld

"As a husband and father of girls, it is very important for me to have frank and honest discussions with the ladies in my life about the critical role that women play in being the backbone of any society. This also needs to be evident in the workplace and the community at large, especially in key positions of authority" ~ TT Mbha
